Good relations in an organisation
(a)
The
vast majority of full time employees spend more of their working hours with
their colleagues as opposed to families and spouses with such a large amount of
time being spent at work with co-workers, it seems my fitting that a good
relationship with the team would be advantageous to all involved.
Improved
team work. It is common knowledge that people who got on well with each other
are more likely to work together for higher productively. This is because of
having heart of working together with all.
Improvement
of employee morale; The development of good relationship in the workplace have
the potential to improve the need of employees making them subsequently more
productive.
Higher
employee retention rate; Employees may feel more connected to a company if they
develop close relationships with their co-workers. The friendly relationship
between colleagues may make them feel like a family, further decreasing the
livelihood of them searching elsewhere for employment. This is a good for both
employees and employers.
Increased
employee productivity. All of them element add up to one common result. Happy
employees who are naturally more productive. Overall, while you may have some
issues with employees becoming too friendly and wasting time together happy and
well-adjusted workforce is a productive one.
By
feeling more connected to their place of employment, workers naturally want to
try harder to help keep the company going and to help it grow.
Blending
complementary strengths. Working together lets employees build on the talents
of their teammates. While your strength may be creative thinking a coworker
might shine in organization and planning. Do not hesitate to share your
abilities with team members rely on each other to bring individual talents to
the table. By observing the process behind these skills, you can learn how to
combine your gifts and become a stronger team.
Good
relationship builds trust. Relying on other people build trust and team work
establishes strong relationships with coworkers. Despite occasional
disagreements, an effective team enjoys working together and shares a strong
bond. When you put your trust in coworkers you are establishing the foundation
of relationship that can endure minor conflicts. Trusting your team mates also
provides a feeling of safety that allows ideas to emerge.
It
also teaches conflict resolution skills. Conflicts inevitably happen when you
put together a group of unique people. Employees come from varied backgrounds
and have different work styles and habits while these unique viewpoints create
the most successful work, they can also generate resentment that quickly turns
into conflict. Then good working relationship help to resolve conflict.
The
promotion of a wider sense of ownership.
Team
project encourage employees to feel proud of their contributions. Tackling
obstacles and creating notable work together make team members feel fulfilled.
Working toward achieving company. This builds loyalty, leading to a higher
level of job satisfaction among employees. Therefore team work is not just
helpful for employees. It benefits the employee in the long run as well
employees that connect directly with their workplace are likely to stay with
the company.
Reinforces
commitment to excellence;
A
part from the salary, another factor that can improve the provision of service
IS the great relationship that each members has with his fellow workers of the organization.
Harmonious relationship within the work place can help improve the delivery of
services since the employees are dedicated to help one another. Services is not
delayed, which otherwise happens when a worker avoids to or refuses to work
with another. At the same time powerful work relationships can result to the
employees sharing one common noble goal.
Good
working relationships also pave the way for innovations within workplace;
As
the saying goes “two heads are better than one” innovative ideas do not come
from any one person. It usually steam from the suggestions of all members
within a group. This can only happen if the collective enjoys a great
relationship in the work place. When team members enjoy good camaraderie among
themselves they can brainstorm for ideas that can further improve the processes
within the management.
Reduces
the stress
One
of the main causes of stress is a rift between coworkers. Because of the blood
between each other, an employee usually takes in more duties or tries to do everything
by himself, because he cannot or will not share his work with his fellow
workers. The stress brought about by this kind of setup can take a toll on a
worker’s productivity and mental and the physical health. Not all will this
lead to more costs, this can also affect the workplace negatively because it
will be shorthanded.
It
help the management focus in the bigger picture. An enterprise can’t have success
if its leaders are forced to spend time sorting out trivial administrative or
operational issues. Building powerful work relationships helps to create a
formidable work group who can be responsible for handling these matters, which
ultimately enables the manager to direct the overall trajectory of the group
without getting lost in the details.
It
helps you to climb up the career ladder most executives are looking for
managers or supervisors who exemplify good team work and camaraderie. If you
possess this attitude, then you will mostly likely be promoted. If you want to
blossom in your career, you need to be a team player. After all, this attitude
will come in handy once you are given the chance to manage or supervise your
employees. The success of every business is not just brought about but the hard
work of the people manning it, nor how the sophisticated the tools are. The
harmonious relationship employees share among themselves is what ultimately
peoples every business to the pinnacle.
It’s
common for small business owners and independent professionals to focus their
resources on gaining new business. However, new project development always mean
new client. Building strong relationship with existing clients can set you up
for respect of business. And even if clients develop return to you, they may
recommend you to colleagues. To build lasting relationship with your client
following trips.
Maintain
a positive attitude;
As
an independent professional, you often carry out a number of responsibilities.
As stressed out or overwhelmed as you may feel. It’s important to show a
positive face to your clients, exude the energy and confidence that you want
your clients to feel about your work. Enthusiasm and zeal are attractive
personality traits that people enjoy being a round and that client enjoy
working with.
Develop
trust with colleagues
Develop
trust by guarding confidence and not gossiping keep you appointment and do your
work well. This demonstrates that others can count on you. Fellow through on
your promises. If you discover that you can’t fulfill a promise, apologize and
offer to resolve the matter in another way. Take responsibility for your
mistakes, rather than casting on someone or something else.
Work with your team;
Collaborate
with coworkers in a group project. Exchange ideas be willing to change the way
you usually do task. Give credit to others their contributions provide
constructive criticism and request feedback on your work. Do your share of
work. Volunteer to take on challenging assignments. Incorporate fun activities
and icebreakers into team project so that members get to know each other
better.
Communicate
will by listening and speaking clearly. Improve your communication skills by
listening attentively to others and speaking clearly. If you are not sure you
understand the other person, repeats the statement in your own words and ask
whether you understand it correctly. Let others know that you value their
opinions. Maintain eye contact during conversation.
Be
respective of others;
Show
respect for others. Be interested in the perspective of other workers and be
willing to examine, viewpoint that are different from your own. Share your own
perspective in a courteous manner. Avoid telling lengthy personal stories and
sending email unrelated to work. If you work in a shared office space limit
personal phone call and distractive such as radios.
Through
mutual respect. Organizational management and employees’ union work better
together if they both acknowledge that the other has a legitimate valued
purpose. Management control resources and work environments of an organization
while unions represent employees getting the best terms and conditions of
employment.
Through
proactive policies. Through the adoption of these policies, employees can now
know how to deal with different unions and how best they can seek their
interests and on how to minimize the need for constant negotiation through the
adoption of such policies that can enhance employee welfare. For example, since
state is increasingly considering he implementation of a healthy workplace law
as to curb such practices as bullying, an employee can implement a strict code
of conduct to protect all employees
.Send
clear messages. Create a clear and concise company mission statement and
distribute a copy of the statement to each employee. This mission statement
should outline the purpose of the business; discuss how the mission statement fits
with employees’ personal values and roles in the company. Hold regular staff
meetings to highlight recent company activities as well as discuss how the
employees are working towards and upholding the business mission.
Set
clear goals. They should be clear and measurable for the individuals and staff
members to weigh easily. Employees must know what to do, when to do it, how it
should be done and from where these tasks are supposed to be done so as to seek
for immediate help. Provide detailed job descriptions and offer training with
feedback from supervisors. Additionally, employees must clearly understand what
constitutes satisfactory work and exactly how their performances will be
measured.
Show
your appreciation. Reward great workers as quickly as possible and address
problems or concerns immediately. Acknowledge staff members publically with
written or verbal recommendation when they exceed performance and provide
assistance to those that are failing. Model the behavior by creating good work
relationships by actively seeking opportunities to offer assistance that will
help co-workers and other staff do their work better.
Distribute
suggestion forms and put in place suggestion boxes. This is also a convenient
as workers can comment and suggest on how to better the company. Responsible
parties can now verify people’s suggestions and consider their comments ,
though others may be painful, you have to think about how employees feel about
what is going on the company. You may be surprised by their arguments but you
have to deal with all of them.
Hold
regular forums.
Hold
regular forums to discuss one topic. This helps an employee from hijacking the
session with an unrelated pet peer. Ask everyone to come prepared with a
comment or ideal to share. Explain that you want to hear from every employee
because everyone’s opinion matters.
Announce
the forum a few days in advance to give people time to think of what they want
to share.
After
holding regular sessions on different topics, wanting feedback, that you want
to hear from everyone and that you are listening.
Encourage
employees cooperation
Stress
that working together is not a competition, it is a collection effort to reach
common goals. Everyone has a vital role in reaching those goals. Its human
nature to compare, however and a little healthy competition can keep people
motivated. Try to work cooperation into the mix. Assign two people to work
together on the ''Hot News'' boast each week. Make it their responsibility to
remove old items and add new one, including at least one motivational message.
b)
Having
good employee relations requires you to have strong dialogue with your team
including them in strategic decisions and getting their input will not only as
the relations. It can also provide you with new insights and help you look at
things from a different perspective.
Communicate
the company mission and visions;
Employees
want to know what they are working toward. They also want to understand how
their specific role fits in with the company’s strategic direction and vision
and be transparent about company direction.
Recognize
a job well done;
A
simple “thank you” and a hand shake for a job well done can go a long way.
Taking the time to recognize your employees efforts on a regular basis will
help keep them engaged and they will be more open to working with and
communicating with management, not working against them.
Work
life balance matters and it is becoming an increasing concern for your
employees. Creating work environment
that promotes work life balance and gives your employees the flexibility to balance
both aspect of their life will improve relations and crate a strong team.
Improve
team work; it is a common knowledge that people who get on well with each other
are more likely to work well together. For example watch new members, typically
that new members will remain some what isolated until everyone else gets to
know her i.e team members who already know, like and respect each other may be
more willing to collaborate for the betterment of the project.
Improved
morale; how much time in the organization spend in one another’s preserve, the
development of good relationships in the work place can increase one’s morale. Coworkers
become friendly and look forward to spending time with one another while they
do their jobs and this may also make work more fun but a stiff and unfriendly
work environment will have the opposite effect.
Higher
retention rates. When one feel connected to a vision as the organization
leaders or they feel as though their fellow coworkers have become like family,
they will be much less likely to want to seek employment at another company.
Friendship takes time to build, especially quality friendship and the prospect
of having to start all over may help convince some employees to stay right
where they are.
Increase
productivity; happy employees who are naturally more productive, overall, while
you may have some issues with employees becoming to friendly and wasting time
together a happy and well-adjusted work force is productive
